Design update
I’ve switched the layout to a “liquid” design, ie so the main content column resizes for larger screens. I still need to update the main title graphic for the fluid layout.
Seems to work fine in Firefox, Safari, and Internet Explorer 7. It’s usable in Internet Explorer 6 but looks a little odd. Will hunt for the right IE6 workaround over the weekend. Why is so much web design time wasted on IE6 treasure hunts?

I made the decision to give IE6 the finger when building my latest site (I’ve linked to it in this comment). If it can’t render a 1px dotted line properly, then it’s hardly my fault. Besides, the browser must be over half a decade old now, surely? I’ve wasted far too much time working round its peculiarities, and now is the time to stop.

IE6 was only replaced two years ago with IE7. Many people still use it, unfortunately, especially in large companies withconservative IT depts so I try and support it for now.
I’ve optd to go back to a fixed layout, albeit with a wider design, as I don’t have time at the moment to hunt around the hosues for a fix. I suspect I could sort it in 5m if I could edit the html as well as the css, but such is life when I trade off hosting ease/cost for less functionality on workpress.com rather than a proper web hosting service.
Like the new site design, although the large drop caps are a little OTT perhaps.
